ASCA Agility Trial, Germany 2006
The first European ASCA Agility Trial was held in Germany at the first September weekend. Of course, I cannot miss such event :-))) We left Prague last day of August and our group consisted of 3 people and 3 dogs: Mirka with Katie (Auxarcs Fair Winds), Lucie just to watch and myself with Ricky and Trey. As usually it was quite a long ride because although the event is held in the neighbouring country, it is always held on its opposite part. This time it was near Luxembourg border in the city Trier. The organizers‘ news were promising 38 Australian Shepherds in total. The dogs were expected to attend 3 days full of trialing or 6 runs daily which was 18 runs within those 3 days performed by 1 dog (in my case 36 runs during this time ;-))) The journey seemed quite short knowing we will have a chance to see so many Agility Aussies. I guess that it was the first time there were so many of them competing in Europe at one place. So far I have been lucky to see cca 15 Aussies on European Open coincidentally in Germany two years ago. Obviously, I saw many more Aussies during our trip to ASCA Nationals last year where we participated with Trey as well. However, I was eager to have a comparison within Europe. Long side with a trial there was a conformation each day.
When we arrived on Thursday, it was already dark but on our Friday trip the showground we found out that Germany can be a beautiful part of land. You can see it for yourself
Participation on the trial was really international – Belgians, Dutch, Swiss and of course domestic Germans and our mini team. I must admit that we definately did not get lost. On the contrary, we placed in almost all runs. It is shame that the organizers didn’t classified the results according to size categories in the end as is usual. Especially Katie could have been placed if they did. Unfortunately, they also did not make the other placements so I will not speculate about it.
ASCA Agility judge Ron Young came from USA

Trey was a bit advantageous, although sometimes I saw it as a weakpoint ;-)) since she was the only Australian Shepherd from Europe with ASCA Agility titles. That is why she competed in Regular and Jumpers in higher levels then the others. Everybody were done and we were only supposed to start.
evening walk
On Sunday we left with our dogs new titles –
Ricky is now officially Imagineer Now or Never JS-E GS-O RS-N DNA-VP, which was basically nearly a maximum what he could achieve within those three days. He could also technically achieve GS-E but according to the results no one was able to get it. Only one dog accomplished the same titles like Ricky who thanks to GS-O took over Trey :-))
Our results do not show it :-)))) but I must admit that Gambler is a game which I do not like very much. Since for the inexperienced handler it is a fast and easy way how to ruin everything he had been training for a long time within 3 days.
Trey is Lost Creek Diandra Tracy JS-E RS-N GS-N DNA-CP
and Katie - Auxarcs Fair Winds JS-N GS-N,
All also have some legs in the higher levels
